Privacy statement

ApartmentCheck is a service of Luminetix B.V. (Dutch Chamber of Commerce 94101914), based in the Netherlands. This page says which data we process about you, why, and how long we keep it.

What data we process

  • Your name and email address, when you upload documents, order something or ask for a checklist.
  • The apartment's address, if you fill it in.
  • The documents you upload, and what we read in them.
  • Your order and payment.
  • The questions you ask our AI assistant.
  • How you use the site, only if you allow cookies for that.

What we use it for

  • To scan your documents and to make and deliver your report, check or deed of division.
  • To handle your order and payment.
  • To email you what the scan found, with a few follow-up emails, and to send you a checklist with one reminder. Reply 'stop' to any email and we send you nothing more.
  • To answer your questions to the AI assistant, and to see what buyers worry about so we can improve the site and the knowledge base.

How long we keep it

  • Documents for a paid check or report: we delete them 30 days after your payment.
  • Documents for a free scan: as long as we need them to answer your questions about them. You can have them deleted at any time.
  • Questions to the AI assistant: 90 days. We don't store email addresses or phone numbers in a question.
  • Invoices and payment details: 7 years, as the law requires.

AI

The scan, the checks and the AI assistant use AI to read your documents and answer your questions. Part of that processing takes place at a service provider in the United States, with the safeguards the GDPR requires for that (EU standard contractual clauses). Your data is not used to train AI models.

The AI assistant gives general information, not legal, financial or tax advice.

Cookies

We only place cookies to see how the site is used and to measure our ads if you agree. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. What the site itself needs to work, your browser remembers without cookies.

Your rights

You may see, correct or delete your data, and object to how we use it. Email joost@appartementcheck.nl; we reply within a month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
